Orthospinology Radiographic Analysis

Orthospinology Radiographic Analysis

What's the difference?

Glad you asked! Orthospinology is a method of upper cervical chiropractic focusing on precision, from start to finish. What this precision allows us to accomplish is quite remarkable. But to properly understand what we are trying to accomplish, we must first understand why.

neck pain headaches

Atlas Subluxation

The atlas is the upper-most bone in the cervical spine (your neck) and is one of the most dynamic joints in the human frame. This bone is not only the seat of the skull, but the portal through which the brain tissue translates to the spinal cord.

What does it have to do with me?

Great question! Did you know your eye is actually an extension of brain neural tissue? How does it feel when there is a speck in your eye? Like a Buick right? Now imagine if the speck were on your brainstem itself?

The major difference in this analogy is that its not a speck on your brain. Rather, your atlas, being the dynamic structure that it is, can become misaligned, applying pressure and tension to the brainstem and spinal cord. This manifests itself in a variety of symptoms from migraines/headaches to low back pain and accelerated spinal degeneration.

How Do you fix it?

KH-2 Laney adjusting instrument

This is where Orthospinology shines. We use the most precise, gentle equipment available! Because we have measured so precisely (down to the hundredth of a millimeter!), and found the exact direction, tilt, and rotational components of your unique misalignment, our adjustments only require around 3-5 pounds of pressure! That scary looking instrument, set at the tension appropriate to adjust an atlas, can be pulsed on your closed eye without discomfort.
